Both Kaunda and Kamuzu, having a common slogan of“Wamuyaya”<\/strong>\u00a0(Forever), had something to carry in their hands as a symbol of Authority.<\/div>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0FTJ Chiluba, born in 1943<\/strong>, took over from\u00a0Kenneth Kaunda<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Bakili Muluzi,born in 1943<\/strong>, took over from\u00a0Kamuzu Banda<\/strong>. Both Chiluba and Muluzi went on to seek a 3rd term of office but failed after extreme opposition to both bids.<\/div>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0FTJ Chiluba<\/strong>\u00a0brought in\u00a0Levy Mwanawasa<\/strong>\u00a0and campaigned for him single handedly;\u00a0Bakili Muluzi<\/strong>\u00a0brought in\u00a0Bingu wa Mutharika<\/strong>\u00a0and campaigned for him single handedly<\/div>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Both\u00a0Mwanawasa<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mutharika<\/wbr><\/strong>\u00a0won those elections.<\/div>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Shortly after being elected as President,\u00a0Mwanawasa\u00a0<\/strong>fell out favour with\u00a0Chiluba<\/strong>\u00a0and dragged him to court over corruption; shortly after being elected as President,\u00a0Mutharika<\/strong>\u00a0fell out favour with\u00a0Muluzi.<\/strong>\u00a0The new Malawian President took his predecessor to court over corruption.<\/div>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Now it gets interesting –\u00a0Chiluba<\/strong>\u00a0was prosecuted by the\u00a0Mwanawasa<\/strong>\u00a0administration and\u00a0Muluzi\u00a0<\/strong>was prosecuted by theMutharika\u00a0<\/strong>Administration.<\/div>\n

7\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Mwanawasa<\/strong>\u00a0won a 2nd Term of office;\u00a0Mutharikha<\/strong>\u00a0won a 2nd Term of office.\u00a0Mwanawasa<\/strong>\u00a0chose\u00a0Rupiah Banda<\/strong>\u00a0as Vice President, Mutharika<\/strong>\u00a0chose\u00a0Joyce Banda<\/strong>\u00a0as Vice President.<\/div>\n
