We have accepted his resignation and we have replaced him with Reverend Christopher Mzumara Ngwira,\u201d said Kamanga.<\/p>\n<p>Kamanga however said the resignation of Mwenefumbo does not signal the start of cracks in the former ruling party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire executive is intact save for Mr. Mwenefumbo. We are still a strong party,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mwenefumbo was one of crucial party members in the northern region and was very close to the late President.<\/p>\n<p>He is the one who called on government departments to stop buying or advertising with the Nation newspaper, arguing that it was critical of the Mutharika administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Democratic Progressive Party Regional Governor for the north, Frank Mwenifumbo has resigned from the former ruling party.
