Ten days earlier, police blocked a demonstration against the fuel shortages and arrested the organizers.<\/p>\n<p>Mutharika called on members of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party \u201cto bring discipline to this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been patient for the last seven years and people think I am a fool,\u201d the president said. \u201cDo you think I am a fool? I have never been a fool, I am not a fool and I don\u2019t intend to become a fool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Civil society organizations condemned Mutharika for inciting violence.
