{"id":5222,"date":"2011-09-15T08:55:01","date_gmt":"2011-09-15T08:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.faceofmalawi.com\/?p=5222"},"modified":"2011-09-15T08:55:01","modified_gmt":"2011-09-15T08:55:01","slug":"mcp-kicks-daza-out-maravi-post","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.faceofmalawi.com\/index.php\/2011\/09\/15\/mcp-kicks-daza-out-maravi-post\/","title":{"rendered":"MCP Kicks Daza out | Maravi Post"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> WRITTEN BY ABEL WEZZI<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_5223\" style=\"width: 194px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faceofmalawi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/mcpchrisdaza.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5223\" src=\"http:\/\/www.faceofmalawi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/mcpchrisdaza.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"mcpchrisdaza\" width=\"184\" height=\"189\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5223\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5223\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daza<\/p><\/div>LILONGWE\u2014Main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has sacked its Secretary General Chris Daza for daring to say he wants to contest for the leadership of the country\u2019s oldest party.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson Vitus Mwale was quick to say MCP leader John Tembo had nothing to do with Daza\u2019s expulsion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has not been dismissed by the party leader but the party structures that have reported indiscipline and defying the authority of the president,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Making the announcement at Tembo\u2019s residence &#8211; Tembo wasn\u2019t president \u2013 Mwale said the National Executive Committee of the party had met and reviewed the evidence against the secretary general.<\/p>\n<p>Mwale said Daza had violated the four corner stones upon which the party is founded: Unity, loyalty, obedience and discipline. He accused Banda of going out on his own to conduct public meetings without the knowledge of Tembo.<\/p>\n<p>Daza has said he is ready to contest the 2014 presidential election.
