Eglash discovered that <strong>many African villages are purposely laid out to form perfect fractals<\/strong>,   with self-similar shapes repeated in the rooms of the house, and the   house itself, and the clusters of houses in the village, in   mathematically predictable patterns.<\/p>\n<p>He got a grant to visit East Africa and do a research on the topic of self organization, He found evidence that African fractals are responsible for most African designs, Culture and even the game <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faceofmalawi.com\/malawi-blog\/bawo\/ ?\">BAWO<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0\u00a0Dr Ron Eglash already has a school running in Ghana using computers that use African fractals to teach young student Mathematics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ron Eglash is an ethno-mathematician, he studies the way math and cultures intersect.
