{"id":10545,"date":"2012-05-18T05:35:39","date_gmt":"2012-05-18T05:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.faceofmalawi.com\/?p=10545"},"modified":"2012-05-18T05:35:39","modified_gmt":"2012-05-18T05:35:39","slug":"escoms-tedzani-power-plant-rehabilitation-to-take-tong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.faceofmalawi.com\/index.php\/2012\/05\/18\/escoms-tedzani-power-plant-rehabilitation-to-take-tong\/","title":{"rendered":"ESCOM&#8217;s Tedzani power plant rehabilitation to take tong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Rehabilitation works at Tedzani one and 2 power plants in Blantyre are expected to take longer than scheduled with the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi attributing the delay to logistical problems.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.faceofmalawi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/escom.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.faceofmalawi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/escom-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"escom\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-10547\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n\u201cThe project was expected to end by June or July this year, but we have delay due to some challenges,\u201d said Public Relations Manager for ESCOM Mrs. Kitty Chingota.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Chingota was however non-committal on how long the Malawi government funded project will take.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe may not be able to say, as at now, when they project is expected to end, because of the logistical delays,\u201d she said<\/p>\n<p>This, according to Chingota, means that load-shedding programs which directly result in frequent power black outs will have to continue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat it means is that load-shedding will never end in Malawi until there is an improvement in the generation capacity.
