NBS Bank has doubled its sponsorship package for this year’s FAM Charity Shield to K40 million.
The bank’s Chief Executive Officer Kwanele Ngwenya has made the announcement during a press briefing in Blantyre, saying the sponsorship is for three years.
TNM Super League winners FCB Nyasa Bullets and runners up Silver Strikers will on March 30 battle it out in this year’s Charity Shield at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Ngwenya says they have decided to double the package after being impressed with how the shield has been run since they started sponsoring three years ago.
FAM General Secretary Alfred Gunda has since expressed gratitude to the bank for the gesture.
The sponsorship funds and some proceeds are expected to go towards charity initiatives in Lilongwe.
