A 35 year-old man, Khanja Fulaye of Bithi village in Senior Chief Tengani in Nsanje is battling for his life after being attacked by unknown people.
VillageHeadman Bithi has confirmed the incident, saying the victim was rushed to Nsanje District Hospital.
He said it is worrisome that some notorious thugs are resorting to assaulting innocent people.
Nsanje Police Spokesperson, Sub-Inspector Agnes Zalakoma refused to comment on the matter, saying is yet to receive any information on the matter.
