Minister of Labour Agnes Nyalonje has resigned as one of the Cabinet members of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
Nyalonje has cited late Dr. Saulos Chilima’s plane crash on June 10, 2024 as the main reason for her resignation.
“I first submitted my resignation back in July but was asked to delay its enactment. His Excellency has now kindly accepted my resignation,” Nyalonje was quoted as saying in one of the local daily papers.
Effort to talk to State House Press Officer proved futile.
United Transformation Movement (UTM) spokesperson Felix Njawala said the party is not surprised with Nyalonje’s move.
