A person suspected to be National Intelligence Service (NIS) officer was detained yesterday at Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) opposition political parties were holding a media briefing.
The suspect who is yet to be identified is suspected to have been sent the Lazarus Chakwera’s government.
Armed Police officers rushed to AFORD offices but they were chased by the angry supporters of the said political parties.
This happened few minutes after representative of the said political parties were blocked from holding peaceful protest from Lilongwe City Centre to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) offices.
Youths armed with panga knives were all over the city chasing any suspected protesters.
