Some workers, who wished to remain anonymous, explained that the incident began when the Chinese national assaulted a grader operator, prompting other workers to intervene. The workers have stated that they will only resume work if their colleagues are released and the Chinese national is relieved of his administrative duties.
Jenda police spokesperson Macfarlen Mseteka has confirmed the arrests but mentioned that, following discussions, the workers would be released to allow work on the road to resume.
Meanwhile, the company’s Human Resource officer, Alfred Mlenga, requested more time to comment, stating he is still handling the matter.
