DPP Members Attacked Each Other at Mbowe in Lilongwe – Zikhale Ng’oma

Minister of Homeland Security  Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, has said that members of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) were involved in an internal clash at Mbowe in Lilongwe back in February this year.

Speaking yesterday during the press briefing in Lilongwe, Zikhale Ng’oma confirmed that the government is still investigating the matter.

Last Saturday, DPP leader Peter Mutharika addressed a rally in Mzuzu, claiming that it was members of the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) who assaulted DPP supporters.

However, Zikhale Ng’oma insisted, “The truth is, DPP members fought among themselves at Mbowe. The investigation is ongoing, and we are committed to uncovering the full details.”

Additionally, Zikhale Ng’oma commented on a separate incident in Chikwawa, where vehicles were vandalized during a political rally attended by President Lazarus Chakwera.

He suggested that the motive behind the acts was politically driven.
