Chileka Police Station in Blantyre has arrested Bright Edward, 28, and Francisco Mwamulesha, 38, for allegedly stealing assorted items worth K5 million from Elite Lodge and other locations within the area.
The station’s spokesperson Jonathan Phillipo says on 15-17th July, the suspect booked four rooms at Elite Lodge; claiming the other rooms were for his friends who were yet to arrive.
He paid K120,000.00 in cash and was given the keys to the rooms.
The suspects then stole four ECCO 32-inch plasma TVs, four electric kettles, and bedding from the rooms.
“We initiated investigations and arrested the suspect and his accomplice, recovering the items,” Phillipo says.
Bright Edward, 28, hails from Makuluni Village, T/A Njema of Mulanje, while Francisco Mwamulesha, 38, hails from Mphandekucha Village, T/A Wasambo in Karonga.
