Ruling in Chisale’s certificate case set for July 30

The High Court has set July 30th as the day to make a ruling in a case where Norman Chisale, bodyguard of former president Peter Mutharika, is accused of impersonating a person named in a certificate in order to be recruited at Malawi Defense Force as a soldier.

Chisale was charged with three counts, namely impersonation of a person named in a certificate contrary to Section 391 as read with Section 358 of the Penal Code, presenting false information to a person employed in the public service contrary to Section 122 of the Penal Code and intimidation contrary to Section 88 of the Penal Code.

Yesterday the High Court acquitted Chisale in a case where he was being accused of using insulting language to a public figure.

However, the court warned Chisale to watch his tongue.
