A married man with two children, identified as Manlafy Danso, has been accused of running away with his landlord’s 20-year-old daughter in the Gambia.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 3, 2024, along Wellingara Coastal Road, where Danso and the young woman disappeared.
Following the disappearance, the girl’s parents filed a complaint against Danso, and efforts are ongoing to locate them.
The girl’s father expressed anguish, alleging that Danso used spiritual manipulation to influence his daughter’s actions.
She said:
“This is far from ordinary. He manipulated my daughter through some spiritual means. My daughter had just completed memorizing the Holy Quran, and we were even preparing to commemorate her achievement. We searched everywhere but couldn’t find them. I am sure they are staying in a guest house. He is a criminal who is known to the police,” he said.
