Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the North Jappie Mhango has been appointed as the party Chief Whip in Parliament.
Mhango replaces Dr George Chaponda who has been removed by the party because he has numerous leadership posts within parliamentary committees.
He will be deputized by DPP’s spokesperson Shadrick Namalomba.
DPP Member of Parliament for Mwanza West Constituency Joyce Chitsulo has retained her position as chairperson for the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament (PAC) unopposed.
Speaker Catherine Gotani Hara announced the development this morning during parliamentary deliberations.
