Police at Jenda in Mzimba district have arrested a 20 year-old man for suspecting him allegedly beat to dead a 28 year-old man at drinking joint.
Spokesperson for Jenda Police, Macfarlane Mseteka has identified the suspect As Kondwani Hara and the deceased as Mussa Mwale.
According to Mseteka, on 9 April this year, the two were coming from drinking joint in late hours, on their way to home, Hara planned to steal a bag of his friend Mwale (Now deceased).
“When Mwale realized that he is about to lose his bag, the two started fighting and Hara smashed his friend’s head with a glass bottle”, said Mseteka.
After the incident, Hara was taken to police station while Mwale was taken to Embangweni Mission Hospital and letter on he was transferred to Mzimba district hospital where he pronounced dead.
Hara is being accused of murder and he will soon appear in court to answer murder case.
Mussa Mwale was hailed from Mzamu Village Traditional Authority Mbelwa in the District.
