Police in Lumbadzi, Lilongwe have arrested two men, Kampala Chilenje, aged 19 and Bright Mkango Kadya aged 20, for the offence of burglary and theft.
Lumbadzi Police Public Relations Officer Sergeant Felix Kwinyani said that during the night of 15-16 February, 2024 the two broke into the guest house at Blessings hospital in Lumbadzi and went away with 40 blankets and bed sheets worth 2.6 million Kwacha.
Kwinyani added that the matter was further reported to Lumbadzi police where investigations were launched, leading to the arrest of the two and recovery of three blankets and five bed sheets.
The two will appear before the court soon to answer charges levelled against them.
Mkango hails from Kawere village, Traditional Authority Mkukula in Dowa while Chilenje hails from Kulamula village, Traditional authority Chitukula in Lilongwe.
