Dr. Thomson Mpinganjira who is the owner of Ekhaya has advised journalists to implement policies that will help them become financially independent.
Mpinganjira said that when journalists are financially independent, it helps to avoid being used by politicians and helps them to carry out their work impartially.
He said this today at a two day meeting held by the Southern region press club in the city of Blantyre.
At the meeting, the media will choose the leaders who will lead the organization from now on.
