Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has announced a freeze on all international trips funded by government for public officers.
He announced that the trips of ministers and civil servants abroad have been stopped and ministers who are abroad should return home.
“All cabinet members currently abroad on public-funded international trips must return to Malawi with immediate effect,” Chakwera said.
The president said this yesterday in Lilongwe during his national address at Kamuzu Palace where he highlighted a number of measures his government is undertaking in the wake of the devaluation of the kwacha.
