President Lazarus Chakwera has conducted a minor cabinet reshuffle, with Simplex Chithyola Banda assuming the role of Finance Minister, replacing Sosten Gwengwe, who has now become the Minister of Trade and Industry.
The changes were confirmed by Robert Kalindiza, spokesperson for the Office of the President and Cabinet.
However, no specific reasons for the reshuffle were provided, with Kalindiza stating that it falls within the president’s prerogative to make such appointments as needed.
