Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 51-year-old man for setting ablaze a house, which consequently led to the death of his 20-year-old biological son.
Lilongwe police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu has identified the suspect as James Chius.
According to Chigalu, the suspect accused his wife of having extramarital affairs, which led to a fight.
“The wife fled to a nearby village, leaving behind their son, Fatsani. The suspect, in his anger, set their house ablaze while Fatsani was still sleeping inside. Efforts by villagers to save Fatsani from the inferno proved futile, as the fire had already consumed a larger part of the house,” explains Chigalu.
 James Chiusi will appear in court soon to face a charge of murder.
