President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has appointed former chairperson of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Teresa Chirwa Ndanga as commissioner of the Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC).
MHRC Executive Secretary Habiba Osman has confirmed of the development in a statement released on Thursday made available to this publication.
According to Osman, Ndanga has been lopped in together with Sponsor Council Board Chairperson Sunduzwayo Madise, Viwemi Chavula and Chikondi Chijozi.
Other commissioners of the Eighth cohort includes; Andrew Kavala, Boniface Massah, Scalder Louis, The Law Commission and The Ombusdman.
The appointment is with effect from August 26, 2023.
