Police in Mangochi are searching for unidentified individuals who abducted, killed, and set fire to the body of a 36-year-old man, Chifundo Kathumba.
The motive and perpetrators behind the murder are under investigation. Kathumba, who worked at a gold mine in Namizimu forest, was abducted in Makoloni Village, T/A Makanjira, and his burnt body was discovered in Mwanjati Village, T/A Namavi.
Postmortem results confirm that he was murdered before being set on fire.
Kathumba hailed from Phalura Village in Balaka.
