A 12-year-old girl in Balaka who accidentally inserted a bottle into her private area is expected to be discharged from the hospital today, August 25, 2023, following a successful treatment.
Clinician Remeo Burton from Kalembo Health Centre in the district explained that they referred the girl to Mangochi District Hospital yesterday evening after realizing the extent of the injury.
Burton stated, “We attempted to remove the object but encountered difficulties, so we decided to transfer her to the district hospital for further treatment.”
In a telephone interview, the girl’s parents, whose names have been withheld, expressed relief, saying that their daughter is now feeling well and is scheduled to be released from the hospital today.
