The newly appointed Bishop of Zomba Diocese Father Alfred Mateyu Chaima will be consecrated on August 12, 2023.
Episcopal Conference of Malawi President Archbishop George Desmond Tambala revealed this on Tuesday during a meeting in Zomba.
Chaima replaces Archbishop Tambala, who was appointed Archbishop of the Lilongwe Archdiocese in 2021.
Pope Francis appointed Chaima as Bishop on June 5, 2023. Currently Bishop Chaima is serving as ECM Publicity Secretary.
