High Court judge Chimwemwe Kamowa, has sentenced Maxwell Tchale, 24, to 30 years in prison for defiling a minor in Thyolo.
Judge Kamowa was presented with submissions that Tchale committed the offense on 7 November 2021 at Majuga village, Traditional Authority Mphuka in the district where he forced the girl in his house after giving her friend K2, 000 to buy chips at an near by market in an apparent ploy.
After considering all factors the judge then sentenced him to 30 years in prison a development state prosecutor, Sub-Inspector Editor Kansasi said would send shock-waves to would-be-offenders.
