Social commentator Joshua Chisa Mbele has denied plans to challenge United Transformation Movement (UTM leader Saulos Chilima for party presidency.
Yesterday, Chisa Mbele uploaded a picture of himself on Facebook rocking in UTM’s regalia. This prompted other social media users to conclude that he is eyeing UTM’s top position.
Today, Chisa Mbele described the reports as untrue.
He then reminded his followers that in the last parliamentary elections he contested on UTM ticket.
According to him he has a suitcase full of UTM materials.
“People have forgotten that I contested Parliamentary Ticket on UTM Ticket. I still have suitcases full of my UTM Shirts & T-Shirt,” Chisa Mbele said.
He then said he can be more effective without any position with anybody while questioning the most influential position in a political party is the presidency.
