A 21 year old man Greysom Dalileni has been struck to death by Lightning in Mkuwani village, Dowa district.
Gladson M’bumpha, Dowa police publicist confirmed the development saying the accident happened on December 19, 2022.
According to M’bumpha, the late Dalileni met his fate when he was planning maize seeds with his Alex Christopher aged 17.
“At about 12:30 hours, rains started and when the two were about to finish planting remaining with four ridges, they were struck by lightning and both fell down unconscious,” explains M’bumpha.
After sometime, Christopher woke up while Dalileni was taken to Chezi Mission Hospital where he passed on.
Post-mortem conducted established that death was due to electric shock secondary to lightning.
The deceased, Dalileni, hailed from Mkuwani Village in Traditional Authority Mkukula in Dowa District.
