The Electricity Generation Company Malawi Limited (EGENCO) has hinted that the ongoing blackouts will possibly come to an end next month, September 2022.
Egenco’s Director of Planning and Development Labren Sondhi disclosed this yesterday during a meeting with a Joint committee on Natural resources committee, Public Accounts Committee, Trade Committee and Legal affairs committee.
According to Sondhi, Egenco has set a team that is working on the ground to resolve the problem.
He added that, another team has also been set to inquire into what is causing the blackouts.
The Joint committee, summoned Egenco to the meeting to discuss current blackouts, electricity tariffs and single buyer system.
