The National Registration Bureau (NRB) has returned the K800 million which was sent to its account by mistake.
It is reported that in April 2020, the Treasury mistakenly remitted the money to NRB account.
Director of NRB Mphatso Sambo confirmed that the Bureau as returned the money.
According to Sambo, the Bureau had requested an additional of K800 million from government for its activities but ended up receiving K1.6 billion, double the amount.
The development made the Public Appointments Committee (PAC) summon officials from NRB to appear before the committee for an explanation.
