The First Grade Magistrate’s Court in Dowa has convicted and sentenced 22-year-old man, Chrispin Liwoni, to seven years imprisonment for defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.
A statement released by police in Dowa said Liwoni had been in a relationship with the victim since November 2020 when the victim was 14 years old.
“Liwoni impregnated the victim and now she has a nine-months-old baby boy,” a statement signed by Dowa Police Public Relations Officer, Gladson M’bumpha said.
The statement goes on to say that when he appeared before court, Liwoni admitted to have been sleeping with the victim at Nkungula Village in the Central Region district.
