Robbers on Tuesday night stole cash meant to cater for social transfer programme at Zomba District Council.
Zomba District Commissioner Smart Gwedemula has confirmed of the development and says the council is yet to establish total amount of the stolen money.
Meanwhile, police have launched investigations on the matter.
