Immediate past President Peter Mutharika who is also the president for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is scheduled to address the media today from his private home in Mangochi.
According to reports, the media briefing follows an emergency meeting in which Mutharika held with senior party officials.
However, details of the meeting are currently not known but rumors indicate that Mutharika wants to address issues to do with cracks that have emerged in the once mighty party.
Apparently, some concerned party members held a meeting today in Lilongwe to call on their leadership to immediately convene a National Governing Council meeting.
This will be Mutharika’s first time to address the media after he lost the June 23, 2020 fresh presidential elections.
