Only results from Dowa, Mzimba remaining for MEC to announce the winner

According to Malawi Electoral Commission MEC) chairman, Chifundo Kachale results from Dowa and Mzimba have not reached the main tally centre for the commission to anounce the winner.

Kachale made the remarks during a press briefing that MEC had at main tally centre, College of Medicine, in Blantyre.

He said 6 out of the 28 districts have submitted their results to MEC. The Commission has managed to curate 18% of the 28 districts.

He added that they are making steady progress in reviewing the results.

Meanwhile, Mec chairperson has given official results for three districts, namely; Likoma, Mwanza and Chiradzulu.

MEC  will address the press later in the day to present official results.
