An ICT expert in Malawi has developed an android application called ‘Umoyo app’ which provides information about the Covid-19.
The developer, Victor Bema who is the Operations Manager at Kawawa Digital Solutions, says with Umoyo App, the general public will find it easier to access messages related to Coronavirus.
Umoyo Application is a smartphone compatible application usable once installed therein.
Bema said this is part of giving back to the public saying the information on the app is verified by health officials.
“This is an android app used for informative purposes in Malawi around the Coronavirus pandemic. We want people to access messages about the pandemic,” he said.
In his remarks, Maziko Matemba, a Health Rights Advocate, while commending the innovation has advised the developers to always verify their information on their application with health authorities to prevent uncertainties.
Maziko has thus far encouraged people with different skills to take up the role of fight against Covid-19 through various innovations.
