Police in Ntchisi have launched a manhunt for unknown people who are believed to have trespassed a grave at Chituza village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Nthondo in the district.
Spokesperson for Ntchisi police Richard Kaponda confirmed the development.
According to Kaponda the incident took place on Saturday when unidentified people exhumed the body of the late Beniford Mandalasi.
Kaponda said Mandalasi died on Thursday and was laid to rest on Friday.
On Saturday morning people discovered that the grave was half open, said Kaponda.
Kaponda added that police ordered that the body be exhumed and it was discovered that the outer layer of the eye was removed.
