An unidentified man died in road accident in the wee hours of Thursday in Mzuzu.
Mzuzu Police Public Relations Officer Edith Kachotsa said the deceased was hit by a Toyota Camry, registration number RU 7765, driven by Charles Gondwe, 37.
“The vehicle was travelling towards clock tower from Mzuzu High Court direction. Upon reaching Total Filling Station, it hit a male pedestrian.
“The man sustained multiple fractures and was taken to Mzuzu Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” Kachotsa said.
She said Gondwe will appear in court to answer a charge of causing death due to reckless driving, contrary to section 126 of the Road Traffic Act.
