Police in Mzuzu are keeping in custody Howard Mvula, 30, an electrician based in the city for defrauding a businessman of K1.3 million on pretence that he was an employee of the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Limited and would connect the businessman’s two maize mills to the power grid.
Meanwhile Police Is appealing to its members of the general public to ensure that they pay for any ESCOM service at designated counters at ESCOM premises and not to people they meet around ESCOM offices.
