Minister of Finance and Economic Development Goodall Gondwe is today scheduled to table the 2017/18 national budget in Parliament.
Leader of Government in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also Minister of Local Government and Rural Development confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Nankhumwa, Gondwe is expected to present the national budget at 2pm.
Speaking in an interview with faceofmalawi reporter Alexander Kusamba Dzonzi, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Spokesperson said he expect Gondwe’s statement to cover up shortfalls noted in President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s state of the nation address.
Dzonzi said Mutharika’s statement left a number of important issues in the country such as how government department performed in the ending year.
