There was drama at the funeral of late Tasoka Msiska on Tuesday, former MP for Rumphi east as angry mourners chased away Minister of Information, Tourism and Civic Education Jappie Mhango.
The development comes barely a month after angry villagers in the same district booed Minister of Youth and Sports Grace Obama Chiumia for attacking Speaker of Parliament Richard Msowoya during the Gonapamuhanya festival held at Bolero.
According to an eyewitness, the funeral ceremony started well until Mhango arrived at the scene.
The eyewitness said the whole fracas was started by a nephew to the deceased who felt uncomfortable with Mhango presence.
Mhango confirmed of the development in an interview and accused Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of being behind the whole fracas.
Rumphi used to be the strong hold of Alliance for Democracy (Aford) and of late the district is turning to be MCP’s strong hold.
